SSC CGL, also known as Staff Selection Commission, was recommended in 1967-68 for recruiting a set of posts. This exam is a national Level Examination and is conducted every year to recruit candidates for the position of Ministries departments and organisations of the Indian Government. Tier 2 consists of two papers – the first paper have 100 questions for quantitative ability, and the second paper has 200 questions for English language & comprehension. (The third paper is given for the position of Statistical Investigator, which comprises 100 questions on Statistics, and the fourth paper is appeared if applied for an Audit Officer position. It has 200 questions on finance & general economics.

Tier 3 consists of three test-skill tests depending on the post, computer proficiency test, and data entry skill test.
